If you don’t see your question listed, feel free to get in touch, we’re always happy to help.
At PinPoint, precision is everything. Our goal is to recreate the natural appearance of hair follicles with results so realistic, they’re virtually impossible to tell apart from the real thing.
Every treatment is customised, we match your individual follicle size and natural root colour, then use a mix of needle sizes and tailored pigment blends to achieve a smooth, natural look that merges flawlessly with your existing hair.
We also take into account your age and hair loss pattern, planning the treatment so it continues to look natural as time goes on. To ensure a seamless result, the pigment is always softly blended about an inch into your current hairline.
Discomfort during scalp micropigmentation is generally minimal. Most clients rate it between 3~ out of 10, often comparing the feeling to a light scratching or irritation rather than real pain.
Sensitivity can be higher around the hairline, temples, and sides of the head, as these areas have more nerve endings. For clients who are particularly sensitive, we can provide numbing options to make the experience as comfortable as possible.
We stand by the quality of our work with a 12-month satisfaction guarantee from your final session. This guarantee applies to clients who complete the full course of treatments recommended by our artist during the initial consultation, ensuring the best possible results from start to finish.
We use only Folicule professional SMP pigments, known for their high quality and safety.
The pigment is made from water, isopropyl alcohol, black carbon, and a proprietary resin.
Each shade is custom-matched to your skin tone and natural hair colour using a precise blend of black, brown, and dilution ratios, with a neutraliser added when needed to achieve the most natural & long lasting result.
For every treatment, we use high-quality, medical-grade micro-needles that are designed specifically for scalp micropigmentation. These precision tools allow us to create the fine, detailed work needed for natural-looking results. Each needle is sterile, individually sealed, and disposed of after a single use to ensure the highest standards of safety and hygiene.
It depends on the type of treatment you’re having.
If you’re coming in for scar camouflage or density work, just arrive with your usual haircut, there’s no need to shave.
However, if you’re having the shaved head look treatment, please shave your scalp the day before your appointment.
In all cases, make sure to wash your hair beforehand and avoid using any styling products after washing. This helps ensure the scalp is clean and prepared for the best possible results.
Scalp Micropigmentation is a gradual process designed to achieve the most natural outcome possible. Treatments are typically carried out across 2-4 sessions, allowing us to slowly build up density, fine-tune pigment shades, and create a seamless blend with your existing hair.
Each appointment generally lasts 2-4 hours, depending on the size of the area being treated. Most clients complete their treatment within 2-6 weeks, with around 7-14 days between sessions, and a longer gap before the final follow-up.
We will have a larger wait on your last session to allow everything to settle and put the finishing touches on to make it perfect.
This ensures the most natural-looking, long-term results.
Yes, absolutely. our skilled technicians are amazing at camouflaging FUE and FUT hair transplant scars. By carefully matching pigment tones to your natural hair colour and blending the treatment seamlessly with the surrounding area, we can significantly reduce the visibility of scars, often making them virtually unnoticeable. Whether your goal is to conceal linear FUT scars or dot-like FUE scars, SMP provides a natural, long-lasting result that restores confidence and uniformity to your scalp.
Aside from the sessions themselves.

For clients with areas of complete baldness, shaving is recommended. We suggest trimming the hair down to around a 0.5–1 length, as this provides the ideal canvas for our artists to achieve the most natural finish.
To maintain a flawless blend between your natural hair and the SMP, we recommend keeping it shaved every 2–4 days. For added convenience, we will also take care of the shaving in-clinic on the day of your treatment.
Scalp Micropigmentation is designed to be a long-lasting solution. On average, results last 4-6 years before a touch-up may be needed. Over time, the pigment naturally softens and fades slightly, which helps maintain a realistic look as your hair changes with age. A simple refresher session can restore the colour and definition, keeping your results looking sharp and natural for years to come.
SMP is a form of permanent cosmetic tattooing, but unlike traditional tattoos or permanent makeup, it uses specialised pigments formulated specifically for the scalp. These pigments are designed to retain their natural tone, they may gradually lighten over time but will not discolour. This ensures your results stay true to their original, natural look for years to come.
After your SMP treatment, proper aftercare is essential to maintain the best long-term results. We recommend applying a high-quality sunscreen and wearing a hat whenever you’re in the sun. These simple steps help preserve the colour and definition of your scalp pigmentation, keeping it looking as fresh and natural as the day it was completed, while protecting your skin from harmful UV damage.
One of the great benefits of Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP), or hair tattooing, is its flexibility. If you experience additional hair loss over time, you can easily expand your coverage. You can also choose to add more density or fullness in specific areas later on. Some clients even decide to transition to a full scalp treatment and create a completely new hairline, and that’s absolutely achievable.
SMP not only delivers an instant boost to your appearance and confidence but also offers long-term adaptability, allowing your look to evolve with you as your hair changes over time.
we would recommend you use the following product to help reduce the shine and assist the natural look.
Grey hairs are simply follicles that have lost the melanin responsible for their colour. Contrary to popular belief, not all follicles are the same shade, our hair is actually made up of many tones that together create a uniform appearance.
That’s why during each session, we use a tailored blend of greys, browns, and blacks to achieve a natural, balanced look that will age seamlessly with your hair.
